Based in Toronto, Canada, Nelu is a CSA award winning Writer, Actor and Producer.
She has written for and performed on multiple seasons of award winning comedy series' including: Jann (CTV/HULU), Odd Squad (PBS), Tall Boyz (CTV), and Baroness Von Sketch Show (CBC/IFC)- for which she earned a 2021 Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing, Variety or Sketch Comedy.
Most recently she’s co-Showrunner for Season 3 of Run the Burbs (CBC/The CW) and a Writer on the critically acclaimed first season of Sort Of (CBC/HBO MAX). In 2021, Nelu was a Staff Writer for Season 2 of A Little Late with Lilly Singh on NBC, with sketches that have100k+ views and minimal hateful comments from trolls.
As an Actor, Nelu’s also been featured on Star Trek: Discovery (CBS), The Expanse (Amazon), The Bold Type (ABC), and web series' including Avocado Toast (OutTV) and Decoys (CBC). She plays recurring character Jade on the Emmy Award winning show Workin’ Moms (CBC/Netflix).
A dedicated advocate for increasing diverse representation in the industry, Nelu is the creator and host of MIRCHI COMEDY, a ground-breaking monthly night of live comedy for Women Of Colour.

In 2015, I created MIRCHI COMEDY, a live variety comedy night to amplify the funny voices of Women of Colour. This groundbreaking show has featured hundreds of diverse voices, from first-time stand ups, to seasoned pros. Over these 5+ years, it's grown to become a highly respected name in the Toronto comedy scene, with a dedicated staff and a welcoming community. Month after month we've brought in sold out audiences and thousands of laughs...even now on Zoom. It's a great time.
